I said a little prayer today for Patrolman Briggs and his family. He may be gone but not forgotten. He will always be a New York hero.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 72nd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

All my life I have heard stories about you and the fact that you died on the job. My grandfather was your nephew by marriage and that makes you my Great-Great Uncle Percy. My Father was only three years old when you died and has given me your pocket watch which I occasionally bring out when I need time to reflect in my life. I am now a police officer in Chesterfield County VA and I know you are out there watching over me. I imagine you and I were alot alike, not knowing what attracted us to being a cop just doing what we do best to keep the streets clean and trying to make it home at the end of the night.
Thanks Uncle Percy...For all that you have done. The sacrifices you have made. And for covering my six when I need it.

Great Great Nephew
