Police Officer Vernell Brown, Jr.

Thank you for your dedicated and selfless servive to the New Orleans Police Department and to the citizens of New Orleans, Louisiana. "Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called children of God." Matthew 5:9. Let us reflect on your life and not dwell on the circumstances surrounding your death. "Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13. Now, you are with Him! "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise." Luke 23:43. However, your work is not yet completed; it is just beginning! "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil." Ephesians 6:11. You are now an Angel of God! May He bless you and keep you always! "Well done, good and faithful servant!" Matthew 25:11.

Vernell was a regular on my parade events. We'd known each other since 2002. I always said to myself that he was the nicest, most calm and level headed cop I had ever come in to contact with.

To learn of this tragedy and his untimely death makes me so very sad. I feel the pain of his loss and I'm not a family member or close friend. I can only imagine how his closest buddies and family feel. I'm so very sorry for your loss.

I'll pray for his family and friends because I know, he's in a great place. He's in God's Kingdom keeping a watchful eye of those he loves.

Rest In Peace V.

Avenue of the Fallen

Standing at attention in their class “A“uniforms, badges gleaming and shoes like glass, are your brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement. All of whom have previously paid the ultimate price.
Today, like many others, they welcome you to this wonderful place.
As you march down the Avenue of the Fallen, all eyes focus on you as if to say “it’s OK, you’re with your eternal partners.”
A salute is followed and a tear can be seen on so many faces.
Welcome, you served well.
Now come join us in the ranks, another is coming home.
