Reflections for Patrolman John James Wilding

It is with great sadness that I read of John's death! I also served on the Niagara Falls Police Department. I am now retired as a result of being injured while on duty on October 31, 1963.
Although I did not know him, I'm certain that John must have been a brave and dedicated police Officer as I knew of no police officers in Niagara Falls that were or are, anything less.
You should be comforted in knowing that we all are praying for his family, that they be comforted in knowing that Jesus Christ has called John home to heaven where he can rest in peace. I pray that our prayers and condolences are of some comfort to you during this difficult period of time. GOD BLESS JOHN AND GOD BLESS HIS FAMILY

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray:

“Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”

I have lifted you and your family to God every morning for over four years. Feel those prayers. God is with you; He knows and will ease your pain.

Our faith helps us to see beyond the grave.

I am so sorry for your tragedy. My brother , ny state trooper ross riley, recently passed with the same type of injury. It is never something we can get our minds around, the day that gives no warning, the day that seems so surreal, the day that never goes away. But the support you will get from your law enforcement family helps tremendously, when you are ready to let them share some of your burden. I will think of your family often and pray for your comfort. I remember it such a comfort to discover later that people were praying for me even when I had no awareness of that or knowledge of who they were. There are many who feel your pain, because we, like you, had relatives who cared enough about people and the pursuit of goodness to do what is right in the bravest way. Please know that we give the highest respect to your fallen hero and understand the nobility with which he served in his end of watch.
