I had the pleasure of meeting US Deputy Marshal Toro while at a training we attended together in 2007. Toro was a hard worker, a great Deputy Marshal and very humble man. I was very sad along with other SLPD officers that met him, when we heard of his passing. My deepest condolences to his family and USMS Yuma family for their loss. God bless all that have lost their lives in the line of duty and those of us that will continued to perform our official duties as law enforcement officers.

I pray that everyone can find peace in knowing that we will see this officer as well as many others again in Paradise soon. Until then, please accept my condolences.

Ten years ago, we graduated the Basic Special Operations school together. You were a freaking hero, but you never acted like one. Maybe that's what made you so damn special. I am grateful for all that you taught me. When I heard you were gone, I just couldn't believe it.... I prayed you were just going "undercover" for a little while. God speed Toro.

Revelation 20:12,13 states "I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and scrolls were opened. But another scroll was opened;it is the scroll of life. The dead were judged out of those things written in the scrolls according to their deeds. And the sea gave up the dead in it, and death and the Grave gave up the dead in them, and they were judged individually according to their deeds." My sincere condolences to U. S. Marshal Toro's wife, children, family, and fellow colleagues. I pray that the above scripture brings comfort to all, especially to the family of U. S. Marshal Toro.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Zacarias died.

To the Toro family, fellow marshals, and all who call Zacarias beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace. I hope that your family knows that a nation mourned for you.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Deputy Marshal Toro gave to his community and the citizens of our country, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on June 14, 2015,

We shall never forget our 9/11 heroes.
