Dear Deputy Smith, I did not know you, but saw the story on Facebook of your son's graduation and the law enforcement officers that stood in for you as you watched down from Heaven. Thank you for your years of service both in the Navy and here at home. May God comfort your family and ease their pain. There is no doubt they were and are as proud you as you were of your son today.

And to all who served with you, thank you. Please know you are all respected, appreciated, and prayed for here in Colorado. Good will prevail.

The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord;
he is their stronghold in time of trouble.
The Lord helps them and delivers them;
he delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
because they take refuge in him.
