I've never written on this page, not once. You'd understand. But it's been 6 years. That means that soon the little people in your life will be old enough to read these posts. I want them to know how much their uncle was loved.

We miss you more than you could ever imagine. We never stop thinking of you. We don't see each other as much anymore, but we always have a beer in your name when we do. You always had the plan... you helped us so much with all of ours. And then, you were gone. Maybe that was (one of?) your final lesson to us. Plan for the future, live in the moment.

I'd give anything to see your white V-neck tee shirts again around NBBS, or to play some basketball. To hear you tell me to try some different foods and talk stocks I still don't understand. I think of you a lot. In the spring, when I think of when we learned you were sick. In the fall, for your birthday, and when you left us. But my favorite time is St. Patrick's Day- the date of so many IVDs. It still gives me a chuckle.

To the Homs, should they ever see this- please know Steve never stop being a part of so many other people's lives... we will never forget him.

I miss you, buddy. Every. Day.

John 5:28, 29 - "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I pray that everyone can find peace in knowing that we will see this officer as well as many others again in Paradise soon. Until then, please accept my condolences.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the second anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
