Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Lieutenant Eric Alan Eslary

My heart and prayers go out for each and every person affected and though nothing can be said or spoken that will make the pain go away, know there are many people who are praying in support of you and in remembrance of your wonderful husband/father/family member/co-worker and friend.

Console one another, as well as those who come to pay respects, as a show of kindness to family, and to show Pride, Integrity and Honor for someone who was willing to place a uniform and protective vest upon his body in hopes of helping protect his community as that community has lost a friend.
If you shed a tear for another, it will help cleanse your soul as it is our memories that will get us through the years.

Life starts out innocent, pure and true with a hope that our last breathe will represent a life full of happiness, fulfillment, wonderful memories and an endearing desire for our loved ones, friends and persons with whom we had contact to have enjoyed our time together.

When thinking of someone, there is no doubt that wonderful memories will flourish and that there will be reflection, but remember that whatever trigger causes a memory, whatever thought crosses your mind, whatever event occurs, that you fondly embrace the life, the love, interactions and personality of that person, which was given to us all.

THANK YOU for being one of the good guys. THANK YOU for your service to the citizens', but most of all THANK YOU for being you.

Our time here is fleeting and over in an instant though the enduring legacy of a family member or friend can be seen in the love shared forever-after by those who love them. Because of yesterday, I live today, in hopes of reaching tomorrow a better person.

Though I have made mistakes, accept me, as I accept you and show me the way …..Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Rest in Peace Lt. Eslary as you continue to watch over your brethren and family until you meet again with a kind smile and a loving embrace.

Boone County Indiana Sheriff's Office

Who was Lieutenant Eric Eslary?
He was a 40 year old man
He was a son.
He was a husband.
He was a father.
He was a student.
He was a trainer.
He was a fisherman.
He was a hunter.
He was a sports enthusiast.
He was an animal lover.
He was a firefighter.

But, most of all he was a law enforcement officer, not just an officer but a K-9 officer who relied on his partner and his partner relied on him.
On Monday May 4, 2015 he put on his uniform as he had done for years, said goodnight to his family and went to work the 11 to 7 shift with his partner Blek at his side, not knowing what the night would bring.
Less than 3 hours later his day would come to a tragic end. Pennsylvania State Police will determine what caused the accident.
Eric had a true love for Law Enforcement and his community. His goal was to make the Ligonier Valley and the County a better place to live. Eric was the first Officer in the Township to have a K-9 partner. Over the next 13+ years Eric mad an impact in not only the Ligonier Valley but everywhere in the County. It’s hard to find someone who did not know Eric and his partner.

Losing Eric will be a loss for the Law Enforcement community, The Ligonier Valley, Ligonier Township Police Department, but most of all his family, Mary Beth and their 6 children. They will need our support for a long time.
Most of all Eric was a FRIEND.

Lt. Eslary, Rest in Peace, We have got it from here.
