I pray that everyone can find peace in knowing that we will see this officer as well as many others again in Paradise soon. Until then, please accept my condolences.

Officer Simmonds, I did not know you personally and only learned of your death while reading a Policeone dotcom article today. It was heartbreaking reading your story, how you survived the Boston Marathon Bomb Blast only to be taken months later by that same injury. My prayers and condolences to your family for having to go through that pain and horror twice. I hope to meet you one day in heaven.

Thank you for your service to our city. I plan on running the road race over by Fenway Park on Sunday the 24th in an effort to raise awareness on brain aneurysms. I will never forget that dreadful attack on our city for as long as I live. You will always be remembered and I will remember you in my prayers when I attend my usual mass at St. Brigid's in Southie.

Officer Simmonds, nearly a year has passed since you were taken from your family, friends and from the people of the City of Boston. This very sad and tragic event has not been forgotten. Thank you for your service. As I type this, one of the two responsible for your murder is on trial. We can only hope and pray he faces true justice for his actions against you and so many other innocent victims.

God Bless and may you forever Rest in Peace, Brother.
