RIP my brother in blue. You are in heaven and they are conducting a return roll call with all of St Michael's angels. It is not how you died that made you a hero. It is how you lived life as one of San Jose's finest that made you one. God speed brother . You will be terribly missed, and remembered for the ultimate sacrifice you made in the line of duty. Always heroes.

Thank you so much for the many years of service to your community. You will be remembered not only for protecting your community during this tragic day, but of equal importance, your work day in and day out protecting us all during your entire career with the SJPD. We are sending our thoughts & prayers to Officer Johnson's family at home, the officers working with you yesterday, those in dispatch during the call, the allied agencies responding & everyone at the San Jose PD during this very sad time.

To my brothers and sisters with the San Jose Police Department. During my time with SJPD I attended far too many funerals of SJPD members. One is too many. Each brings sadness and reflection of "what if it were me?" or "What could I have done to make it work out different?" We can only do what we can. The rest is in God's hands. This doesn't dampen the sadness we feel but if we did what we could that's all that can be asked of us. I pray for comfort for Officer Johnson's family, loved ones and friends, as well as the SJPD family. Rest-in-peace Brother Johnson.

We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of Officer Michael Johnson and we honor his distinguished service to the cause of justice and peace. Sadly, our nation has lost one of its finest citizens, a community has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage who they will love and respect forever.

To the family, friends, and colleagues of Officer Johnson, I would like you to know that a lot of people pray for you, and my hope is that their prayers will give you the strength necessary to move on.  Just as you were always with him when he walked the beat or patrolled the streets, know that he will always be with you - wherever you may be.  In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that Officer Johnson is a man distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family, and your sacrifice will never be forgotten.
