It is a sad day when any law enforcement officer dies in the line of duty.

Officer Yazzie was a valued member of the Navajo Division of Public Safety and the Navajo Nation.

May all those that knew Officer Yazzie find comfort knowing he gave his life while trying to safeguard others in the Tribal Community. May all be grateful that the last full measure of a life was given for you and your safety.

May all be blessed with the knowledge that Alex Yazzie was a friend, a warrior, and a brave member of the great Navajo Nation. One to be remembered by the Navajo forever.
