We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of Patrolman Curtis Arellano and we honor his distinguished service to the cause of justice and peace. Sadly, our nation has lost one of its finest citizens, a community has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage who they will love and respect forever.

To the family, friends, and colleagues of Patrolman Arellano , I would like you to know that a lot of people pray for you, and my hope is that their prayers will give you the strength necessary to move on.  Just as you were always with him when he walked the beat or patrolled the streets, know that he will always be with you - wherever you may be.  In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that Patrolman Arellano is a man distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family, and your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

The goodness of a man is not measured by his material wealth, but by the love; warmth and smiles he inspires in his lifetime. Officer Arellano was truly a great man and a true friend to the citizens of El Paso. His greatest quality was the gentleness of his soul and his dedication to law enforcement.

I met Adrian when both of our sons attended the same grade school in El Paso. When our son's classes had a field trip to the local pizza place, Adrian would help to escort the kids on his police motorcycle and I would help escort them in my patrol unit. We would block traffic and make sure the long line of children made it safely to their destination. Proud dads and proud cops. He was that kind of man; caring of his family and proud to be a peace officer. My thoughts and prayers go out to Margaret, Adrian Jr., the Arellano family, and to the men and women of the El Paso Police Department. On behalf of the Texas Game Wardens in the El Paso District, thank you for your service and sacrifice. Your brothers and sisters in blue will carry on. RIP Adrian.
