To the family and friends of Deputy U.S. Marshal Josie Wells, I send my sincerest condolences, thoughts and prayers. My heart is deeply saddened and although I don't know exactly how you feel, I am grieving along with you. It hurts when a fellow law enforcement officer is taken away from us but, the hurt goes deeper to the core, when it is one of our own from within the agency. May you find comfort, strength and peace in the arms of our Lord. May the legacy of Deputy Wells live on in his son and may he learn of his father's heroism and sacrifice to make this world a better place for him and all of us.
-- "Let not your heart be troubled. Ye believe in God; believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto Myself, that where I am, there ye may be also."

Thank you for your commitment, service and sacrifice Deputy Wells. Rest in Paradise... we will take it from here.

I wish to extend my condolences to the family of Josie Wells. While I did not know him personally, I heard about his untimely death from one of my students, William Snelson.

I want the family to know there are invisible people who support law enforcement and the military. I am one of them. You may not know who I am, but I keep abreast of the heroic deeds you do for me. Believe me when I state your deeds do not go unnoticed or unappreciated.

May God bless you.

Miss Me–But Let Me Go!
Edgar A. Guest
---------------------------------------------------------

When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little–but not too long
And not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared,
Miss me–but let me go.

For this is a journey that we all must take
And each must go alone.
It's all a part of the Master's plan,
A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick of heart
Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.
Miss Me–But Let me Go!

We will ALWAYS remember you Deputy Wells, thank you for your sacrifice on behalf of all. Rest in Peace.

Deputy U.S. Marshal Paul Brunhuber
USMS/SDNY
