Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Detective I John Scott Stevens

Six years.

The sting has lessened, but the ache is still as deep.

You are still missed tremendously. Please continue to watch over Scottie and show us your signs. We see you.

Scott,

I’ll never forget busting your chops always calling you John. It was an honor to have had the opportunity to meet you as well as work together on a task force. You were a truly genuine human who was always up for a good laugh. You don’t meet many people like you in a lifetime so I’m glad I had the opportunity. R.I.P. my friend, until we meet again.

5 years ago today was the last time we spoke. Even though your EOW is 1-21-15, I always have thought you’ve been gone since the 8th.

Two weeks of praying and hoping and willing you to wake up. The waiting was the hardest part.

You are missed immeasurably. The ache is duller, but deeper and the scar is faded now.

Mine would still be you.

You are loved, beyond.

Always remember, there was nothing worth sharing,
Like the love that let us share our name.

You are missed.

Scott, happy what would have been 49th birthday. We do lots of extra special things in January as special memories and inclusion of villages. On Jan 20 we had another very successful blood drive and organ donor signup. On Jan 27 the Lacey Youth Memorial Scott Stevens Tournament was a huge success. While Scottie has outgrown the age limits; he was part of the representatives of his wrestling team volunteering at the event. How very proud you can be of the young man he is. While Dawn has a big part there is also a very large village with ongoing care & love. Lots of love & hugs. Dad & Mom

I pray that everyone can find peace in knowing that we will see this officer as well as many others again in Paradise soon. Until then, please accept my condolences.

Scott you are so loved and missed by so many it even amazes us. Today the eve of your third EOW anniversary was amazing for your son. It was a reminder of a wrestling match you had against Central. Very similar in style and importance. Yes, we saw you so telling you nothing new. Also, please know that Dawn has done a great job in organizing a blood drive together with a NJ Sharing Network sign up in your honor. It is designed to carry forward to others your caring and sharing. Love you so much Dad & Mom

Revelation 21:3, 4 provides a real hope for the future of those that have lost a loved one. "He will will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away". May these words from our heavenly father give some comfort and hope. You are in my prayers.
