As the daughter of a retired police officer who was the father of 6, I send my sincere condolences to Officer Kondek's family (who will probably never ever have a "merry Christmas" in their lives), and to all of his family of officers and co-workers. You risk your lives every day and some people do really appreciate all that you do for us. Officer Kondek's unfathomable death leaves a very sad spot in my heart.

Each day that passes brings us a new announcement of the death of another brother..........too frequent, too harsh, too sad, and almost too incomprehendable to even try to begin to understand. My God grant this brave officer life everlasting in a better place far from here.

How very sad and senseless, again a courageous police officer pays the ultimate price for doing his job. He was trying to protect society from from the scum of the earth, not an easy task, and all to often a very thankless job and profession. Though I did not know Officer Kondek, I know he must have been an exceptional man. May he rest in peace. May God bless his family, and all the men and women who wear a badge and serve with Honor and Pride.
