Growing up in the area and visiting Tarpon frequently, this hits hard for me. My grandparents knew Charlie and they passed a few years ago. Heaven has gained another angel. Say hi to them for me Charlie.

Charlie and my son Danny played together here in NY when they were kids. I worked with Charlie Sr. at the NYPD. Every time a cop is killed in the LOD it breaks my heart. I have not seen Charlie or his dad for many years. If anyone reading this has a contact number for Charlie's dad, please email me. My condolences to TSPD for this loss.

It is a sad turn of events, especially at this time of year, My condolences to all the families of Blue who have suffered a loss due to some crazed IDIOT, who does not understand the true values of life and family. It is a sad day indeed when a brother of Blue is shot down in the line of duty, trying to protect the people they serve. Unfortunately there are dirt bags out there that believe we are the enemy and believe they are right in shooting a Police officer for whatever reason, be careful and always watch your back, Retired or Active, you are never safe! RIP MY BROTHERS OF BLUE

Retired PO , Steve Ecklund

Words of sympathy and remembrance just don't seem to be enough-my greatest hurt is for the family of this officer-never will they have a Christmas without sorry or memories of "daddy not coming home"- This officer who gave all he had to give to serve and protect is at peace and rest with God-my prayer is for the 5 children, right here at Christmas who's time shared with their father for Christmas has forever ended-because of a piece of garbage-

We are thankful for your service. Your lost life has saved many others. You have paid the ultimate sacrifice for your service. And we thank you for this. Your reward now is peace and being with your Creator who will reward you more than we could ever do. We pray for those who are left behind. We honor your wife and children, and all your other family. You are now far better off than any of us. Your healthy, wealthy and enjoying life. We will miss you but we know we will soon join you and a celebration will occur that day. We will see you again and you will introduce us to Jesus! We will all live then happy forever together!
