My deepest condolences for the wives of both officers and for the children of Officer Ramos. May God watch over all of them and make them strong soon. I pray that young Jaden finds peace in this senseless tragic killing of his father and that he continues to make his father proud. I pray his child in college continues his studies to make his father proud.

During this Holy Season of peace on earth and goodwill to all people, I am reminded of the Massacre of the innocents that occurred at the time of the birth of the Christ child. It underlines to me just how much more we need the presence of the Savior in our world today. Along with others who die needlessly, Rest In Peace Officers Liu and Ramos. Saint Michaels the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the malice and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.

Ode to Public Servants

To the cop who calmed my 7 year old walking home from school after being let out early from school one afternoon, I stand with you.

To the cops who responded to every school shooting and helped our children after the storm, I stand with you.

To the cops who stopped to ask if everything was ok after three gang bangers threatened to hurt me walking home from high school one afternoon, I stand with you.

To the off-duty officers & firefighters who put on a uniform to help American citizens on 9/11, I stand with you.
To every widow(er) whose officer won’t come home tonight because they did their thankless job, I stand with you.

To the cops who found and arrested the burglar that haunted my 9-year-old’s dreams after stealing his wallet while he watched from a neighbor’s house, I stand with you.

To the cops who arrested the angry, homeless teens that chased me with machetes and switch blades, I stand with you.
To every public servant who has ever stood in the face of adversity so I didn’t have to, I stand with you.

To every man, woman, & child who has ever been helped by one of the many nameless public servants in your lifetime, this is a call to arms, a call to come alongside our public servants, reminding them why they do this job: to help those in need.

So thank one today. Bring them coffee, let your little ones hug the knees of the one patrolling the park, or shake a hand, smile, & say thank you, knowing that I stand with you.

To every public servant who’s run into a burning building, been spat on, beaten, or shot at, I stand with you!

Thank you to everyone who has stood in the gap when I couldn’t. Thank you for showing up day after day after day, despite the dangers involved. Most of all, please know, that I, and many Americans like me—we stand with you!

RIP our fallen protector. Your sacrifice will not go unnoticed. May the Thin Blue Line symbolize your sacrifice made.

Police Explorer Ben Quist

The majority of Americans still remember our NYPD Officers as staunch members of The Thin Blue Line who stood at Ground Zero on that awful day in 2001 when our Country was attacked and performed their duties in a manner of excellence befitting our Nations finest. Well, our nations finest are still under attack from outside and from within our own borders. Your devotion to duty and unyielding personal sacrifice will not be forgotten by those who treasure freedom. Thank you and your partner Officer Liu for doing what cops do day in and day out...protecting others. To your family, coworkers and friends, I offer my deepest condolences. May your rest in eternal peace.
