Officer Diamond began his law enforcement career in August of 1995 with the Los Angeles Police Dept. I worked with him at 77th and Newton Divisions before he left to Montebello and later to Pomona PD. Shaun exemplified integrity, honor, character, and the highest levels of compassion, empathy, and courage in everything he said and did. It is my honor to call him my friend. I will miss him dearly, and do my best to carry on his memory every day that I pin on my badge. Semper Fi

Shaun, rest in peace my old friend. I will never forget all the days and nights we pushed that Black and White around Newton Division. The LAPD's loss was Pomona PD's gain. A true warrior to the end.

To Shaun's family, fellow officers, and all who call Shaun beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Officer Diamond gave to his community and the citizens of California , and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on October 29, 2014.
