The service and commitment of this officer can not be measured, nor can the loss felt by his family and loved ones. Officer Diamond, you are a hero whom I will never be properly able to show my gratitude for helping to ensure the safety in a community so close to where I live. God bless you and yours, brother.

Shaun as I write this its with a tear in my eye and a crater in my heart. As a new officer 8 years ago you were my mentor who helped me through training and always had a positive word of encouragement. The two years we we able to share as squad mates were two years I will always remember. I hope you know the impact you made on the people around you. I thank you for being my mentor but most I thank you most for being my friend. I wish we were closer but for now I lift my glass of Jack and Ginger and toast you.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. Being the breach officer on an entry team is one of the most dangerous jobs any officer can have. We recently lost a female officer in the city where I live doing the exact same thing Officer Diamond was doing. You will be sorely missed by your family, friends and fellow officers. Godspeed, Officer Diamond.

Just a couple of weeks before this happened I saw you at the station and told you, again, that you were still my hero. You grinned such a small grin, because you remembered. I had called you out to assist because I could not find the VIN on a Volkswagen. If you had not responded I would have never found it under the back seat.

You always gave of yourself, whether it was in a dangerous situation, or whether it was something very small. For this, you will always remain "My Hero." You will be greatly missed.

May God Rest your Soul, Officer Shaun Diamond.

I have laid down my life in service to all of you.
I have been a part of the fabric that has held the line between your safety and your victimization. I have given my life so that others may live in peace. I have lived my life as a dedicated member of the greatest profession. There is no greater honor.

As I now become a part of the rich history of law enforcement, please remember me always for I have left behind those who loved and depended upon me.
My partners and my agency, please remember my family, their loss, and don’t let time soften your compassion for them.

You guard the gate now and I will continue my watch from above.

MAY YOU REST IN PEACE AND MAY YOUR FAMILY FIND COMFORT IN THE GOOD YOU HAVE DONE HERE ON EARTH.
