Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Anthony Phillip Haase

My heart goes out to this fine Police Officer, gone way to early in his career; killed only five months into his police career! To be absent from earth is to be present with God in heaven; my sincere condolences brother to you, your family and the Rio Rancho Police Department of New Mexico that will miss you; to your family I offer my sincere prayers of comfort! "The Final Inspection"
The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."

Anthony,
I didn't get a chance to know you as well as I'd like to. I did have a chance to talk to you a little bit at the range on Thursday. You were a good man, a good husband, brother and son. We never know God's plan for us and He must have needed a dedicated, strong and loving servant this morning so He called you home. Watch over us brother as we carry on the task of celebrating your extraordinary life. Protect us in our daily activities while we're on duty being the little voice in the back of our heads telling us to 48. We will take care of your family brother, both blue and blood. Fair winds and following seas brother.

Godspeed.
Respect and prayers for strength.

"Cry not for me but the ones that have never or will never, share the love we share, nor made the sweet memories we have made. As the battle down there rages, still does the struggle for Heaven and The Lord Needs us in His Army Above. See you all again at end of trail."

A burdened shared is lessened and you are certainly not alone.

Dear Almighty God And All That Is Good.
Help us to restore our faith,
Amen.

May God be with you and your family. May God also be with your agency. We sure get beaten up a lot while being in law enforcement and we are always asked to do those things that to others are unimaginable. Thank you for your shirt time in law enforcement and I pray you had Jesus in your heart. God Bless.

On behalf of the Westerville, Ohio Division of Police, our thoughts and prayers are with the immediate family of Officer Anthony Haase and the extended law enforcement family Rio Rancho, New Mexico Police Department. Rest in Peace brother and watch over us.

I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, But tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.

IN MEMORY OF OFFICER ANTHONY HAASE

To the family, friends, and colleagues of Officer Anthony Haase:

From the beginning of time after Cain killed his brother, Abel, there has been a need for law enforcement officers to protect the weak and to bring evildoers to justice. This work is necessary in a sinful world and is dangerous. In modern times, some one hundred and forty-eight law enforcement officers have sacrificed their lives to protect the citizens of the State of New Mexico. Today, we honor the sacrifice of Officer Anthony Haase, of the Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Police Department; who was killed in the line-of-duty on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at about 3:00 AM, in a single vehicle traffic collision near the intersection of Idalia Road and State Road 528 while responding to a domestic violence – ‘Man with a Gun’ call in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

“Lord God, we are grateful for the life of Officer Anthony Haase. He died serving us. Help us never to forget. Help us celebrate the life of Officer Anthony Haase and honor his sacrifice. Be with the family, friends, and colleagues of this fallen hero. Comfort them and give them your strength. Guide those who seek to take care of the family of this hero. May those empowered to do so, care for them with integrity. In commemorating the death of this hero, help those who mourn to remember that death is not the end. Death does not have the final say, but is simply the transition to the glorious life to come. They should look forward to that life to come with joy and thanksgiving.

As for the citizens of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, help them to faithfully equip their law enforcement officers with the best tools to protect their community. May their training be adequate to the task. Help the citizens of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, to remember to pay their law enforcement officers fairly and treat them with respect. Help the citizens of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, to obey the law and treat each other with dignity so as not to add to the burden of crime and pain to their community.

The time for mourning will soon pass. We have now remembered and celebrated the life lost in this great tragedy. As the family, friends, and colleagues of Officer Anthony Haase go forward, they must celebrate the good things in their lives; and to celebrate life itself!

Finally, Lord God, we pray for the families, friends, and colleagues of all the law enforcement officers who have been killed in the line-of-duty and we thank you for their sacrifices. Bless the lives of their families, friends, and colleagues so they might find healing. Help their law enforcement organizations support the families of these fallen heroes. Even though their deaths might have been senseless, make something good come out of these situations so that their law enforcement organizations and the communities in which they lived and served might be stronger because of their lives and their deaths. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”

Now, Officer Anthony Haase, may the Lord bless you, and keep you: the Lord make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious unto you: the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.
