Rest easy brother, you have stood your watch with pride and professionalism. Go to the promised place where you can look down to see your brothers continue what you have started. Our prayers are extended for the family & for the department, especially those who served w/Deputy Sheriff Michael Naylor. Having served two counties in my younger years & 13 months Federal service (INVESTIGATOR--US PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE) the last year of the Federal Immunization Initiative, it still hurts when one of our own goes down in the line of duty.

Seems like Texas, as an Arkansas neighbor is a little closer to us also. In my day, we were more like Texas Rangers & the majority of our state was a rural area.

One can leave the field as a peace officer; but, being a peace officer, a REAL) peace officer, stays in your blood until the day you die. Sadly, many in our field today do not have the dedication & servant attitude of Deputy Naylor nor realize the danger faced once you pin on the 5 pointed star or a shield (badge).

You never forget, you just learn to live with it. This memorial in memory of: Sid Pavatt, Bill Langford, W.W. Williams, Harry Locke, Sgt. O.H. "Bill" Mullenax, Sheriff Billy Joe Holder, Sr.

A police officer should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the Midland County Sheriff's Office. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother!

No riots no large media event, just another officer doing a job of serving the public who so often fails to understand the danger of being an officer. God bless his family and friends and may God grant them peace.

My family and I will continue to pray for the hearts which hurt for the early loss of a great person. Deputy Sergeant Mike Naylor was and still is a great man which blessed our family with his knowledge and his Christian heart. We were truly blessed to know you for a short while. My family and I will be looking up to Heaven and know you will be on patrol in Heaven protecting other children and families.
