Brother, you have served the City of Newark and anyone who ventured into that city for any reason for 23 long years. Now you can rest. The mission can never be completed, but you did your part and for that, you are a hero.

Your friends, co-workers and family are in my prayers. So long as you remain in their hearts and minds, you will never truly be gone from them.

God Bless and may you forever Rest in Peace, Brother.

I am in the sheriff academy class 403. We are only in our 5th week but one big thing I got from my drill instructor is that law enforcement is big family. So when one officer falls its the same as one of us falling.

Sir, I just want to say thank you for wearing the badge honorably so that we can sleep easily at night. You sacrificed your time, family, and life so that others may stay safe. To me, that is a hero and I know you are in a better place.
My heart and prayer goes out with you, your family, your law enforcement family, and all the people you have touched.

TO THE FAMILY, FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUES OF NEWARK POLICE DEPARTMENT, POLICE OFFICER REINALDO AROCHA, JR. I.D.#86.

My heart is filled with great sadness at learning of the lost of your loved one and fellow Officer.
We in the Law Enforcement Community are a family, though we may wear different uniforms and have different badges, shields or stars pinned upon our chest, our areas of enforcement may vary, we consist of many different agencies from across the nation, for we are :
Municipal Police Officers, Sheriff's Deputies, State Police Investigators, State Highway Patrol Troopers, Conservation Officers, College Campus Police Officers, Correctional Officers and Federal Agents just to name a few.
We patrol small towns, large cities, college campuses, county roads, state highways, state parks and the United States Borders.
Whether active duty or retired, we are one family, a Law Enforcement Family, brothers and sisters bonded together by HONOR, SERVICE and PRIDE.
Daily we honor our fallen brothers and sisters never forgetting their sacrifice.
Daily our position is clear that we will SERVE and PROTECT our communities without faltering and with no hesitation.
Daily we show pride in our chosen profession LAW ENFORCEMENT, for we willingly walk the line of GOOD over EVIL facing the unknown with COURAGE keeping our trust and faith in GOD. We know that evil roam these streets and at any moment in the course of performing our duties the ultimate sacrifice might be required of us in the service to our community, for LAW ENFORCEMENT is not a job but a calling and only a few will make the decision to commit to that calling to serve for some will give all that they have.
OFFICER AROCHA!
You did not die in vain
You sacrificed your life in the service to the citizens of Newark in the State of New Jersey with HONOR, PRIDE and DISTINCTION.
I'm proud to have worn the uniform of a Law Enforcement Officer like you did.
I'm proud to have pinned the badge upon my chest like you did.
I'm proud to have SERVED and PROTECTED my community as you did.
I'm proud to call you my BROTHER!
I commend you my fallen brother for making the ultimate sacrifice in the performance of your duty.
For you left us doing what you chose to do.
Performing a job you were trained to do.
Upholding the oath you swore to do.
Most importantly doing what you loved to do.........SERVING
and PROTECTING your community with HONOR and PRIDE making a better and safer place for us all!
FINAL CALL
Officer Arocha status...........Officer Arocha status..............
Officer Arocha status.............Attention all Units................

Ray, I still can't believe you're gone. I will never forget you, the joking around, having breakfast at I-Hop, how much you loved your police vehicle Unit 813, previously 439. I'm going to miss your stories about your family that you loved and talked about all the time. I felt like I knew them personally. I'm sorry I couldn't attend your funeral services, but someone had to answer the calls for service. You are in a better place now, probably giving St. Peter a hard time for parking next to the Pearly Gates. I know you will look over us, and your family will be taken care of by all if needed
Rest in Eternal Peace my Friend, my Co-Worker, and my Brother in Blue.

I could not find the words to express my sorrow for your death, and it is extremely hard to write this my friend. I ask God to give your family and friends the strength to endure this pain. I found this poem on line written by unknown author and will like to share it here on your memorial page.

Don't cry for me now I have died, for I'm still here I'm by your side,
My body's gone but my soul's is here, please don't shed another tear,
I am still here I'm all around, only my body lies in the ground.
I am the snowflake that kisses your nose,
I am the frost, that nips your toes.
I am the sun ,bringing you light,
I am the star, shining so bright.
I am the rain, refreshing the earth,
I am the laughter, I am the mirth.
I am the bird, up in the sky,
I am the cloud, that's drifting by.
I am the thoughts, inside your head,
While I'm still there, I can't be dead

Rest in Heaven Ray; with respect your Brother in Blue.

Ray, I will never forget the time we shared. I loved your passion for your sons and your desire to help anyone you could without ever asking for anything in return. You were the epitome of an officer and a gentleman.

I still think you got over on me when you bought my riding lawn mower, so when we get together once again, you are going to mow my lawn :)

I loved that we could share our love for our children, I will never forget your heartfelt sentiment when you said you didn't deserve the sons you had. Yes you did, and they deserved you.

I will miss your awesome stories, your sense of humor and your kindness.

I promised your family you will never be forgotten. I hope we will make you proud of what is to come.
