To Jessica who is a hero in my eyes. Many good officers, deputies, etc put their lives on the line for us everyday. She was making sure we were safe during the storms. My heart aches for her family. A few months ago in Austin TX on the railroad near Parmer and hwy 29, officers held disabled railroad barriers up by hand while lightning struck around them just so us citizens could pass. I am grateful to Jessica. RIP and keep watching over us.

It's but for the grace of God that this same tragedy did not befall me when I was a young probation officer in Texas, during a terrible flood in Bexar County, TX many years ago. There are so many dangers out there that we in law enforcement face every day, and nature can be more fierce an adversary than any mere criminal. It saddens me to learn of the loss of our sister. I am confident that she will forever be remembered for her brave service and dedication to her community. Rest in peace sister. We have the watch.
