Joe My Brother,

As I write this, I feel an unbelievable sadness, and I know this date will forever be burned in my memory. I can't help but think about the times we went to DC with the FOP for Police Week and Peace Officers Memorial Day to memorialize and honor fellow Brothers and Sisters that had made the ultimate sacrifice. We all knew it could happen to anyone of us. We knew how easy it could be for a POS to assault/ambush us out there. I know you honestly strived through training, experience, and constant effective officer safety tactics, to make it as hard as possible for that POS to do so. Last night showed that even the best 5%er Cops can be vulnerable.
Your name will be on a lot of EOW Bracelets worn by your Brothers and Sisters. We will make that somber trip once again to DC to add your name to the wall on that hallowed ground at 4th and E streets. With drinks held high in the air, we will toast you, as a circle of bagpipers play Amazing Grace. You will most certainly not be Forgotten Joe. Love you Brother.
