Reflections for Marshal Robert C. Tyson

Robert C. Tyson was my grandfather that I never knew. I so wish I had been able to know this great man who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. I have visited Gurdon many times. My mom and dad retired in nearby Arkadelphia; returning to the area of the country where my dad grew up before he passed away in 1991.

God bless the law enforcement officers who who serve to protect all of us.

Granddaughter of R.C. Tyson

Time may have passed but you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.
Thank you for your heroism.
God Bless

I am a retired Fort Worth, Texas Police Sergeant. My grandfather, Robert K. Bass, was a methodist preacher in Arkadelphia and a town Marshal or Deputy in Gurden, Arkansas some time before his death in 1935. He is buried at Bethlehem Cemetery in Joan (at edge of Arkadelphia) by the Bethlehem Methodist Church, where he once preached.

We can only truly honor our heroes of the present by never forgetting our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 87th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered
