My Dearest Christopher,
It has been almost ten weeks since you were taken from us and I just wanted to let you know that I miss you with all my heart and soul. I am continuing to be amazed and inspired by the outpouring of love and support that is being shown for you by others on this website, from people from all over, from friends and family and also from the beautiful little town of Waldwick and the Waldwick Police Department that you so proudly loved and served. I do not know how I find the strength every day, but somehow I get lifted up and push onward. I know that you are helping me to reach out to others and to be strong. Please keep the Angels safe up there and watch over us from your beautiful shiny cruiser in the sky. I love you, Momma

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Chris was killed.

To the Goodell family, fellow officers, and all who call Chris beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Officer Goodell gave to his community and the citizens of New Jersey, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on July 17, 2014.

To my brothers and sisters of the Waldwick Police Department reading this post with a hole in your heart, I offer to you my deepest and most profound condolences for the untimely loss of your brother. I did not know Chris well, other then to work with him on occasional jobs on either on Route 17 or when we were on a four man team to enter and search Macys following an unusual incident at GSP. As is often the case in times like this, I had the pleasure of hearing of the many amazing experiences with Chris you all have shared, and I feel as though I know him more now because of you. You've truly kept his spirit alive, and have shared him with us. Brothers and sisters we mourn with you, and in these difficult times I offer you my hand in whatever you need, day or night...365. Stay strong, and carry on in a way that would make Chris proud.
Chris's family and fiancé, I am not sure what to say that could express to you how absolutely sorry I am for your loss. We as police officers often forget how impactful our careers are to the people we love. It was not only Chris who paid the ultimate sacrafice, it was you who gave him to us, his brothers and sisters in blue and I am forever greatfull. He was a man of his community, and they adored him. You should be proud. Remember he is never truly gone, he lives on in everything you do and in all that you see. The impact he's made in his community shines brightly and he'll forever be a part of Waldwick.
Lastly, to Chris.... Thankyou. You're devotion to duty, to your fellow officer and your community has inspired me and I'm truly sorry I didn't know you more. I'm sure you're in heaven writing summonses to all the rest of gods angels for flying too fast, or having a light out in their halos. I know that when it is my time you'll be waiting for me at heavens gate to show me the ropes just as I'm sure you have for all our other fallen brothers and sisters. Until then, Rest easy my brother, we will take it from here.

To all those who have written here, your beautiful words of encouragement, love, and respect... please know that I am truly honored to be reading these amazing posts from each of you. The comfort and strength that I am feeling from reading these words, brings tears of great sadness because he is no longer here, but also incredible amazement at the beauty that I am seeing...Christopher loved being a police officer. He woke up every day, ready to live life to the fullest. He was my Hero. Thank you for your kindness and support. To his fellow Marines and Police officers and all those who choose to serve their country and communities, I thank you for your service. For those who have gone before him, my prayers go out to all of those who have lost their loved ones...

THEIR SACRIFICE IS TREMENDOUS, AND IF THEY COULD, THEY WOULD TELL US

"I have laid down my life in service to all of you.
I have been a part of the fabric that has held the line between your safety and your victimization. I have given my life so that others may live in peace. I have lived my life as a dedicated member of the greatest profession. There is no greater honor.

As I now become a part of the rich history of law enforcement, please remember me always for I have left behind those who loved and depended upon me.
My partners and my agency, please remember my family, their loss, and don’t let time soften your compassion for them.

You guard the gate now and I will continue my watch from above."

MAY YOU REST IN PEACE AND MAY YOUR FAMILY FIND COMFORT IN THE GOOD YOU HAVE DONE HERE ON EARTH. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO US ALL.
