Reflections for Chief of Police Lee Dixon
Chief Dixon, i'm sorry for what happened to you nearly 11 years ago, as you didn't deserve what happened to you. The man who killed you wasn't just a coward, but he was moreso of a man who didn't get help prior to what happened. I think personally if he got help and didn't spiral downwards into what he fell into, he wouldn't have did what he did to you that day. Although he was in a dark spot and wasn't alright in the head, it still doesn't change the fact he killed an officer who was doing his job not knowing who he was dealing with. However, i do think that justice has been served, since he's been given life without parole, meaning he won't harm anyone else again, and hopefully he's given the help he needed. However, i do think that during your almost 20 years as an officer, you made an impact on your community and people, as you most certainly changed people's lives and made a good impact on everyone who met you. Although i never personally knew you, i can tell you did things your way, and when you did your job the right way and made a difference, you only made people like and respect you more than you thought you did. Your 18 years of service defined who you were as a man and officer, since i'm sure that the city of Little River-Academy and its people appreciated your service while you were alive. I think that no matter how long it's been, your impact and service won't be forgotten for as long as time goes on, as you've changed the lives of others who were truly touched by the way you served. Although you aren't physically here right now, your legacy will be remembered by not just those who met you, but those who learn your story, like i have. But as mentioned earlier, i do think things could've been different that day, had other officers been there to help, or had the man who took your life got help beforehand or during the encounter. From what i learned, the man who killed you wasn't ok, and he had a different way of thinking before he took his actions out on you, which means that if other officers knew how dangerous he truly was, then that information would've reached you. I don't think it was anyone's fault in this case, because the man was just a crazy individual who only made himself a danger to those around him. All in all, he's off the streets and thrown into prison, as he will no longer make himself a threat to the people that were around him. As of now, may you rest in peace knowing that your service to Little-River Academy and its people are appreciated, and that the state of Texas appreciated your service while you were alive, and that the man who killed you will face Karma for his actions. Karma takes its time to reach those who do wrong, including those who harm police. May you rest well knowing your impact isn't forgotten, and that those who knew you are honored to have had an officer like you protecting them during your time alive. Rest Well Mr. Dixon

On behalf of the Westerville, Ohio Division of Police, our thoughts and prayers are with the immediate family of Chief of Police Lee Dixon and the extended law enforcement family of the Little River-Academy, Texas Police Department. Rest in Peace brother and watch over us.
I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, But tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.
