Police Officer Kevin Jordan,

When you made your decision to enter law enforcement some four years ago you became blessed:

For the Lord said, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God." Matthew 5:9 ESV

When you responded to a disturbance at the Waffle House, while on an Overtime Detail Assignment, on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at about 2:30 AM, along US Route 19 in Griffin, Georgia, you answered God's call to serve:

And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said, "Here am I! Send me." Isaiah 6:8 ESV

As a result, you were fatally shot in the back three times by a male suspect while attempting to handcuff a female arrestee; sacrificing your life so that others might live and be protected:

And the Lord said, "Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13 ESV

I, along with your family, friends and comrades, will mourn your sacrifice and loss in the line of duty:

And the Lord said, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." Matthew 5:4 ESV

Now go! Rise up! And do battle against Satan and his demons as an angel for the Lord!

In God's merciful love,
