Fair winds and following seas shipmate. Thank you for your service.

I am unable to express my condolences to the family of MA2 Mayo...just can't find the words to express my feeling of loss.

I did this 42 years ago when SN Leonard Davis was KIA off the coast of North Vietnam. We never forget these fine men.

When I think on what MA2 Mayo may have been thinking during that quick display of selflessness and bravery, I think of a passage from the bible. Isaiah 6:8 -" Also I heard the voice of the Lord saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I: send me". Thank you MA2 Mayo for your heroism and your service. And to the family, May God grant you Peace.

God Bless.

Thank you for posting this tribute for Mark Mayo and getting the rank and rate correct. I am a retired Master-at-Arms and the Navy rarely recognizes the tributes that the MA's do for fellow shipmates. This Hero should be recognized because he gave his life to save a fellow Sailor. RIP and Fair Winds & Following Seas.
