He went to work that day and did not know
This shift he served would bring such sorrow
This call to duty would be his last
His time on earth is now his past
God set this day as his time to go
Rest in peace Officer Kelley, now a hero
He gave the ultimate sacrifice
With integrity and pride he paid the price
His family, friends and colleagues will mourn
As an angel in heaven he is now reborn
His golden heart stopped beating
Hardworking hands at rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the very best.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Marc died.

To the Kelley family, fellow deputies, and all who call Marc beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Officer Kelley gave to his community and the citizens of Texas, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on March 14, 2014.

On behalf of the Westerville, Ohio Division of Police, our thoughts and prayers are with the immediate family of Police Officer Marc Kelley and the extended law enforcement family of the Trinity University, Texas Police Department. Rest in Peace brother and watch over us.

I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, But tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.

Officer Kelley, our little campus family is in mourning at your untimely and tragic death. We hate to see any brother or sister representing that thin blue line die, but when it's part of that branch of the family I belong to, it hits home all the more.

Though you may be gone physically, so long as those who know and love you best keep you in their hearts and minds, you will never truly be gone.

God Bless and may you forever Rest in Peace, Brother.
