Sunday with be the 9th Anniversary of Ricky’s passing. The events of that day bring a multitude of emotions, especially sadness. Ricky or my husband would have rather tried to talk the shooter down from his mental episode, but neither of them were given that chance. Far too many of these events, could have had different outcomes with earlier intervention. We Honor Ricky everyday we pass his road sign or a Cleone. Bless you Ricky, Sending hugs and love to you family

I still find it hard to believe you are gone. You were one of my best memories of working with Fort Bragg Police as I trained you to be the great Peace Officer you became.
The world lost a great person when you were taken away.

In 1994, as 20 year old aspiring cop, I went on a ride-along with then Fort Bragg Police Officer Del Fiorentino. He took me into his home for dinner with his wife and children. I remember being embarrassed when I commented on how good the chicken was, only to learn it was cornish game hen!

The way he dealt with people that night (including me) left a lasting impression on my career, even 26 years later. Although I only spent one shift with Officer Del Fiorentino, I know him to have been a good and kind soul.

Rest in Peace,

John 5:28, 29 - "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I pray that everyone can find peace in knowing that we will see this officer as well as many others again in Paradise soon. Until then, please accept my condolences.

I miss Ricky every day when I do not see him in briefing. When my job takes me back to the coast where Ricky served the community I miss seeing him in the office joking with him, and talking about hunting. Your laugh was memorable, your heart was tremendous. You were my brother then and you are my brother now.. Love and miss you.

PS. Timmy is doing great and making you proud..

We had our LEO memorial in Bellefonte PA this evening. In 17 years of attending memorials, your name is the first on the roll call that I knew. I think of you often now, unfortunately it is because of this tragedy that I found out that you were the ultimate example of Col. Grossman's sheepdog reference. Rest easy, Ricky. Your legacy will live on forever in future generations of sheepdogs.

I knew Rick from back in the mid 1980's. Rick and I worked together at Mervyns as store Detectives in Napa. He saved me many times fighting with thieves using those unbeatable wrestling skills. We both got into Law enforcement at the same time, Rick was a great guy, none better. He was one of those people you never forget. A mountain of a man yet very humble. The world lost a good man the day he died. I miss you Rick and will see you again in Heaven . I will find you by your laugh. Good bye my friend.

Merry Christmas Ricky. Sorry I am a little late getting here. I heard your song on the radio today and it reminded me to get get my butt on here. Not a day goes by without thinking of you. CALTRANS got your sign put up on 101, hopefully the people of Mendo county have more respect than the jerks in Oakland that vandalized the 4 OPD officers sign. Rest easy my friend.
