Sgt. Wride, you are a true hero. The thing who murdered you will be missed by very few, if any, whereas you have left behind a grieving family well beyond Utah County. So long as those who know and love you best keep you alive in their hearts and minds, you will never truly be gone. Thank you for all your service to this county.

The most accurate word, is not a word at all.
It is the feeling we all feel,
in our chests and our stomachs,
when we come to these pages.

With great respect and sadness.
With prayers for strength to family,
friends and department.

Picked up a badge,
picked up a gun.
Sometimes I feel like;
I’m the one, on the run.

I work at night,
sleep in the day.
Wouldn't have it,
any other way.

I gave it my all,
gave my life in the end.
To made a difference down there,
I would do it all again.

To stand together we chose,
my blue brother,
because there are those,
that would harm another.

The most important thing
is to do what is right.
I would have never got in the ring,
if I didn't like the fight.

There are smooth roads
and the ones paved with ruts.
We drive the distance
because we have the guts.

Please finish your tears
and smile again.
We had some great years
my dearest, dearest friend.

We always do our best,
win, draw or fail
and I’ll see you all again,
at the end of trail.

Please don’t weep for thee
as your sadness saddens me;
as I look down from above
and we feel each others love.

Love is timeless.
It transcends all things.
Time, space and even our passing.

I am always near you.

This man was an amazing officer, but we knew the father he was. We will miss him greatly. My youngest son (19 months) saw a picture of him on our computer and got really excited about seeing grandpa. He will be missed by so many. As a family we want to thank everyone that has sent a condolence, meal or silent prayer to us. The outpouring of support from friends and the community has been and is nothing short of amazing!! Thank you all.

It was heartbreaking to hear the news of Sergeant Wride's untimely death at the hand of an evil person. As the mother-in-law to a fine LEO I pray every day for these fine men and women who put their lives on the line for us. May the Comforter be with the Wride family to carry them through the difficult days ahead. And may they know with certainty that they will be with their father, husband, and grandfather again some day in a better place where only goodness, peace, and love abound.
