Bubba,
It's never going to be the same without you calling to talk to my dad anymore. And it's not going to be the same at any MCSO get together without looking for you to sit with.
My Dad lost you, his best friend, and he worries me, it's not the same without you.
I never really understood the weight of the words "I'll see you in the morning." when I say them to my dad every night until the night after we got the call and he went to work.
You were such a fantastic human being and I loved all of our frequent conversations that we'd have while I was searching the house for my dad.
You're already dearly missed. Do me a favor and watch over my dad at night will you? He needs you.

Becca
His friend's daughter

Every one of these reflections is special; every one reflects a tragedy, a lost life, a family in pain. They are here because an officer, Deputy, or other law enforcement professional has paid the ultimate price in the service of their organization. Every time I read one my heart breaks and tears flow. But this one is different; this one is for a friend. A colleague, someone I knew, someone I drank coffee with, someone I helped or had help me at numerous calls for service. I cannot count how many times I traveled down that same road that took Bubba. But I do know his sacrifice will make me safer. It will make me more alert and that is how I will remember him, by doing these things. Be with God Bubba, I know you arrived with a smile on your face and But for the grace of God go I.
You will never be forgotten. May the passing of time heal the pain for your family.
