Reflections for Police Officer Denis Reid McLarney

This morning, at our annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, I received a lanyard with your name and picture, and I wore that lanyard during the climb. I came here to find out more about you. Each year, I make an attempt to learn more about the person I walk with. No words of mine could ever do justice to the sacrifice that you made. I pray for you and your family, and I will keep this lanyard, along with the others, and revisit each annually to remember and honor your sacrifice.

John 5:28, 29 - "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I pray that everyone can find peace in knowing that we will see this officer as well as many others again in Paradise soon. Until then, please accept my condolences.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the sixth anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. We shall never forget our 9/11 heroes.

Rest In Peace

My sincerest and deepest condolences to the entire family of Police Officer Denis McLarney. May his soul rest in Heaven with all the other Law Enforcement Officers in this world who gave their life serving and protecting the lives of other human beings. To members of Officer McLarney's family; know in your heart that Denis died because in 2001 he was among so many other Emergency Responders who were attempting to save and locate other people at the World Trade buildings. Find peace in knowing Denis, like all the other Emergency Responders who answered the call on September 11, 2001 are honored hero; God bless them all and their individual families.
