Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Adam J. Davis

I worked with Adam when he was a automotive mechanic at Mcguire Truck And Auto. He was always fun to work with. He always kept us going with pranks. I consider myself lucky to have known him as a friend. There will always be an emptiness in me without him here. May God bless him and his family. He will be greatly missed

Adam,
It's taken me a year to do this. I never imagined I'd have to say goodbye. You were one of the best friends a guy could have. We miss you every day brother. Its been a full year since I took that picture of you and I know you hated it but it was funny no matter what. You look so mad but at least you were able to laugh about it later even if you did smell like a gallon of cheap perfume. Your glitter in the air vents of my car worked like a charm thanks to Kelly. Lol one day ill get ya back but its gonna take me some time to think of a better one than the rattlesnake. Keep watching over us bro. Skittles owes you one already. R.I.P always brother.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Adam was killed.

To Adam's family, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Deputy Davis gave to his community and the citizens of Texas, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on December 11, 2013.

Deputy Davis,

I know you will rest well in the arms of God.

To Your Family,

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray, “Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”

I have lifted you and your family to God every morning for over two years. Feel those prayers. God is with you, He knows and will ease your pain.

"The Thin Blue Line"

There is a line
the color of the sky
on a clear afternoon

There is a line
the hue of the ocean
on a bright sunny day

There is a line
the purest shade of a newborn's eyes
awakening for the first time

There is a line
that protects us from harm
in all we do
whether day or night

There is a line
no one can penetrate
no one can alleviate

There is a line
made of those who choose
to follow a calling many do not hear
and still more do not comprehend

They choose to walk
the path of fear, hate, and mistrust
taken by so few
but marked by so many

And when one leaves this line
they leave a legacy
but the line does not break
for the remaining must still protect

There may be emptiness
a loss, or sadness
but never a hole
not in this line

This line that holds
the ghosts of the souls who have gone
and the souls of the ghosts who will be
The Thin Blue Line

The worst time of year for this type of thing, not that there is a good time. For all the time you spent protecting the people of Texas in your various positions, though I've never even been there, I thank you. Your family at work but most especially your family at home is in my prayers. So long as you are kept near in their hearts and minds, you will never truly be gone.

God Bless and may you forever Rest in Peace, Brother.
