Ross, ever since Wednesday when my plane landed in DC and I turned m,y cell phone back on and my cell phone started blowing up with text messages from Troopers telling me that you had died, I have felt like I have been punched in the stomach. I still can't believe that we had just talked on Monday and that you agreed to play TAPS at our annual Candlelight Memories Vigil on Tuesday, December 3rd. You were so excited and honored to ba able to play TAPs as a way to honor the fallen and now instead you will be one of the fallen. The half hour talk we had just sharing different things in common and getting to know each other, I feel like I have lost a close firend. I have already started hearing some great stories about you from your coworkers. Just know that you, your family, and coworkers are in my thoughts and prayers.

My wife and I were recently at Letchworth State Park, the rock cliffs are huge and we commented on how dangerous it could be if someone tried to make the climb.. Godspeed to the troopers family and friends..

I hate hearing this news as do we all. It’s bad enough at any time, it cuts deeper for me when it’s a Marine. You get that empty feeling in your Stomach and a huge sense of loss. We are all in a fraternity of sorts, Policing and or Military and are affected in a most profound way because of our Fraternal relationship and deeply sadden by this unfortunate accident and loss of Trooper Ross M. Riley. My Sincerest Condolences SEMPER FI,
