On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Rod was brutally murdered.

To Rod's family, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Officer Bradway gave to his community and the citizens of Indiana, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on September 20, 2013.

Dear Brother,
Words alone cannot express what we feel when we lose a fellow brother or sister. Tears are shed, prayers are said, and then our lives go on. We continue down the road doing what we do everyday, in your honor. Heaven received another guardian, now go rest high on that mountain brother, your work on earth is done. We will carry on from here.

Officer Bradway,

Thank you for your service. You will be welcomed by all others who also chose to "Protect and Serve" who went before you. Rest well in the arms of God.

To Your Family,

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray,

“Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”

I have lifted you and your family to God every morning for over two years. Feel those prayers. God is with you, He knows and will ease your pain.

The streets are all lined
By Policemen today
For one of our own
Has been taken away.
The badges we wear
Shining brightly so well
Are blackened today
For a comrade who fell
The feelings are deep
And are mixed to a man
The death of a friend
Is a hard think to stand.

The hearse passes by
With all heads staring straight
Our eyes water now
For we all know our fate
With hearts weighted down
With both sorrow and pain
We say our farewell
'til we meet him again
The public we serve
Also out in full force
To pay their respects
To a policeman of course.

We see so much grief
In our everyday toil,
But nothing compares
To the ride to the soil.
For when we had laid
Our companion away
We realise the chance
That we take every day
We work on the streets
By both day and by night
With never a thought
That we could lose the fight.

The pain of this day
And the sorrow will pass
Tomorrow will come
But the memories will last.
We won't soon forget
Of our dear fallen friend
We buried today
To the Lord did we sent.
We'll always remember
That way that he tried
The goodness he showed
And the way that he died.

Our job is our love
And tomorrow we too
Put our lives on the line
Just as he did for you
And wherever you are
And whatever you do
Remember us now
The policeman in blue.
