Wow - what a shocker! My husband and I met Paul at a concert in Traverse City MI a few years back and afterwards we came away friends - He befriended me on Myspace when I had a Myspace page and although only acquainted with him for a few hours at a concert and a few correspondences through Myspace - I can say that Paul was a very nice and respectful man and I'm sure he made an Excellent MSP Trooper!
I will not forget you Paul and my condolences to your family, friends and fellow officers.
Let us all CELEBRATE the life of Paul Butterfield - It is obvious he will be missed here on this Earth - But now that Paul is absent from his body - He is now present with the LORD JESUS CHRIST! He has returned home to our FATHER from whence he came and we will all see him again someday when we too return home to our FATHER!
FATHER, I ask at this time that you wrap your comforting arms around all of those who have been touched and are grieving for the loss of Paul Butterfield - Bring Blessings and Peace to them all and I thank you FATHER! In Jesus Christ's name I ask this - Amen and AMEN.
God Bless You Paul! I will see you again someday!

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.
Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,
Abraham Lincoln
