Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Trooper Paul Kenyon Butterfield, II

I would just like to say "Thank-You" for all you've done over the last 14 yrs...I know this was never a part of your plan, and they say "everything happens for a reason"... even when we all sit here saying why? why take an amazing man, but I do believe, that good will come in many ways from your ultimate sacrifice... As I celebrate my daughter's 12th birthday tonight, I will keep you n your family in mind and make sure my daughter knows your story and to reflect on just how precious life is and how quickly it can end... Sending healing wishes to your family, friends and coworkers... I hope they know that people who have never met you and never had the joy of knowing you care about you and appreciate all you gave... much love from my family to yours... R.I.P. Trooper Butterfield- An American hero gone too soon

Trooper Butterfield,
Last evening you gave your life in the service of our great State, protecting those of us who dare not undertake you’re noble and just cause. The Michiganders whom you so proudly and professionally served will be forever in your debt. For your family I pray that God himself brings them comfort as only he can do at a time like this. May you rest in peace amongst our brothers in blue, who like you have made the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of our citizens.

How tragic that another coward has selfishly, wickedly and with total contempt of the law, chose to take the life of one sworn to protect even him. May God have mercy and bring comfort and solace to this fine officer's family and loved ones.
