The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord;
he is their stronghold in time of trouble.
The Lord helps them and delivers them;
he delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
because they take refuge in him.
Psalms 37:39-40

God bless you and your family.
Rest in peace brother.

Saddened by this senseless death of one of our finest. We live in Arizona, but have a nephew, Joe Renaud out of the Wakefield Post, Michigan and cannot imagine losing a loved
one in the Police sector. Our codolences to Trooper Butterfield's family and all his "brother" officers. God Bless you all for what you do---your life is on the line each and every day! May he rest in peace.

Paul was the second peace officer attacked in Michigan in as many days. They were both attacked by vicious animals posing as human beings. When are the judges and prison authorities going to learn to recognize these animals before they let them out of their cages to prey on citizens and police officers?

Our thoughts and prayers are with Tpr. Butterfields family and co-workers. Having retired with 25yrs of service to the Michigan State Police, this still causes time to reflect and realize how lucky any one of are to get through your career because far too many don't get that opportunity. Our prayers also go out to Paul's fiance. The loss she is feeling is far more than any of us could possibly imagine. Thank you Tpr. Butterfield for all of you hard work and dedication to the people of the State of Michigan. Your sacrifice can not be measured only remembered. May you rest in peace!
