Thank you Harry Pickering for placing the perfect sediments from Citrus Co. It is with great honor that I see Rufus Walter's name being added after all these years in memorial to his life and service. No greater man could their family have offered for our safety.

Dear Officer Walters, and to the Surviving Family Members,

Your supreme sacrifice will never be forgotten. Here in Citrus County, Florida where you served protecting our community we have ensured that you will be remembered and recognized each year at our local Peace Officers' Memorial Day Service. This coming May 2014 you will be honored at the Florida State Capitol during the annual Law Enforcement Memorial Day Service, and your name will be inscibed in the monument in the State Capitol Plaza. Your family has been engaged in this process and your brothers and sisters in law enforcement will lend them our support. Your name has been etched into our memories forever, and in our memorials, and you will never be forgotten. Rest in peace and God Bless you and your family.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 75th anniversary year of your death.

Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace
