I am a retired NYPD and Westchester County Cop living in Charlotte County. I can say for a fact these officers are great at keeping this place safe and livable for us all . They are brave and professional and a credit to the brotherhood. I do not know this brave brother personally but I know he did his duty honorable and proper. Often they respond alone and must await back up or face danger ahead of other officers. Danger is danger no matter what city ,state or county you work in. He faced danger with bravery and honor. His sacrifice was not in vain but his death will be grieved for that was too soon! God bless and all my sincere respect brother !!

A Part of America Died

Somebody killed a policeman today and
A part of America died
A piece of our country he swore to protect
Will be buried with him at his side

The suspect who shot him will stand up in court,
With counsel demanding his rights
While a young widowed mother must work for her kids,
and spend many long, lonely nights

The beat that he walked was a battlefield too
Just as if he'd gone off to war
Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast,
To his name they will add a gold star

Yep, somebody killed a Policeman today,
In your town or mine
While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors,
A cop put his life on the line

Now his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street,
And he stands at each new rookies side
He answered the call, of himself gave his all
And a part of America died

I never dreamed it would be me,
My name for all eternity,
Recorded here at this hallowed place,
Alas my name, no more my face.
"In the line of duty," I hear them say;
My family now the price will pay.
My folded flag stained with their tears;
We only had those few short years.
The badge no longer on my chest,
I sleep now in eternal rest
My sword I pass to those behind,
And pray they keep this thought in mind.
I never dreamed it would be me,
And with heavy heart and bended knee;
I ask for all here from the past,
Dear God, let my name be the last.

Your work is done here on Earth - Heaven has called upon you today, leaving so many words left to say. But now it's too late, for your time has come, words unspoken; I am sure everybody has some. Regrets and wishes are probably there too, but lasting forever are memories of you.
There have been many times that we waved to each other, but we were there for each other in time of need. Now it's time for us to say Good-Bye, until we meet again in heaven to fly. Now go and Patrol the Heavens Above and Watch Below those you Love. Thank you for your service.

Too Soon, Patricia Robinson-06/15/2013--3:40pm
Just want to share, I hear this all the time, when Death comes
They say she/he is gone too Soon.
When in reality no one goes b4 their time.
They might have been too soon for us, because we weren’t finished with them.
But when it comes to God everything is in his time.
So as we sit and feel sorry for our selves, remember they are where they are suppose to be.
And we are here allowing suffering within our selves.
If we would recognize death the same as birth. We all got to die.
And if we are born, there is no other result left for us. We don’t know the time, we don’t know the day.
We just know it will happen. So instead of crying over spilt milk, enjoy your time today, that second,
That minute, that what ever. Be too them today what you feel for them after death.
So many people wait to show love until its too late to love, after death they cant feel your love, your sorrow, its just a way to lose your self in you. So if you havent hugged your child today or a long time, do it. Because after they are gone.. You cant make up for lost time. You have just missed out on one of the greatest of affections in your living life, love. And remember no one goes too soon
