Rest in peace. Know David is watching over all who carry on what he enjoyed and gave his life doing, being a great cop. I met David several months ago during NNOA and he impressed me as a very caring and good police officer, who cared about his fellow officers enough to teach what he knew, caring for an injured officer and rescue. He taught me something, after 30 years I didn't know, David impressed me. To your wife, David was a very good man and to your fellow LVPD family, he will be missed by all.

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray, “Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family Officer Vanbuskirk,

Alive an well in the arms of God, surrounded by all your loved ones and fellow officers who went before you!

To Your Family,

Father help this family to find peace in the knowledge that their loved one now rests in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”

I have lifted you and your family to God every morning for over two years. Feel those prayers. God is with you, He knows and will ease your pain.

My husband had the priviledge of meeting Office VanBuskirk and thought well of him. I just watched the funeral, which was a beautiful testimony to his life and the contribution he made to Las Vegas and those he knew. It is an honor to call him one of our own. Our family extends our sincerest sympathy to his family and to the department. Office 'Gavin' (I'm sorry I don't know his last name), made me feel like I knew him. Thank you for this ulitmate gift.
