My deepest condolences to Ms. Vanbuskirk as well as to Dave's parents, siblings and extended families. We should all remember that David is NOW IN HEAVEN, seated alongside and among the blessed and chosen people in law enforcement who have entered the Kingdom of God prior to Dave. He is truly blessed because he served God's people, and he died while helping to save the life of another human being. Also, I wish to extend my condolences to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Sheriff Doug Gillespie and all the members of the Department. I will also say a prayer specifically for Ms. Vanbuskirk at this difficult time, and to the helicopter pilot and others who were aboard the ship at the time of this tragic incident. May God's peace be with you all.

Officer Vanbuskirk, you are the very definition of HERO. You went above and beyond many of us would ever consider doing. The slot you left open in your unit will be filled, but you and men like you can never be replaced.

So long as your family keeps you in their hearts and minds, you will never truly be gone.
