Sgt McLean,
Protecting a child from a Predator on duty, Daddy to two special needs children off duty? You are a "Real Life" SUPERHERO.. It is an incredible honor to have shared my chosen profession with the likes of you. YOU, are what I have always aspired to be, a protector of the innocent, especially children. I "will", with all my heart, that those of us who remain, including your family, can channel your strength and example when lacking. Thank you WARRIOR.. you've set that bar pretty damn high.. I know your brothers will not let you down and your kids will have their '6' well covered.

A police officer should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the Hood County Sheriff's Office. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother.

Having lived in Granbury in the late 80s I know how special this beautiful community of people truly are. Rest in peace brother. No greater love hath man than this, that he lay down his life for his fellow man. As a patrol sergeant in Kansas I know first hand how critical it is to get calls taken care of like this. Lord keep this family in Your Hands. Guide them through this dark time....

May the days ahead be supported by the love and care of your family and friends. May the LORD of heaven put His had upon your breaking hearts and bring healing to them. May the courage and goodness of your loved one bring both to you. May you know and understand that his loss has diminished each of us in some way and at the same moment cause us to raise up and walk on to fill the space of his loss. May you be aware of his contribution to the safety of us all. My prayers are with you and yours at this time.
