Reflections for Police Officer Jason Scott Ellis

My deepest condolences to the family, members of the department, and those served, at the loss of this officer. May faith, family, friends and time join together to ease everyone’s pain at this time of loss.

While many other career choices were certainly available, this officer chose to protect his fellow man, and for this we give everlasting thanks. As the Good Lord hath said, “Blessed are the Peacemakers.”

Thank you for your service, your convictions and moral character, as well as your devotion to duty. May you now rest in peace, knowing your fellow brothers and sisters will watch over your family and continue the Watch!

Wow, a man just doing his job, gone too soon; may the Most High bless the soul of Officer Jason Ellis and the souls that had been in his care that are now left behind.

To the families and affected loved ones: Cherish each moment of your life and don't let this be a moment that lasts only a moment, allow your expressions of love to shine forth from generation to generation. Stay focused and be encouraged; don't forget the lessons learned and the life of a noble individual, too. Never hold grudges to-ward those who've caused the pain; pray that their souls will learn the lesson required to not commit such atrocities.

So few understand the life choice we make everyday when we report to work and go about the business of protecting and serving. All too often it is a tragedy that brings to light the heroic actions of our "every day" heroes in blue. I am deeply saddened once again that a husband and father won't be returning to his family. Please know that there is a limitless extended family of officers who mourn with you and will keep your family from harm because that's what we do. Thank you for putting on the uniform and for being one of the few who live to serve. Rest in peace brother.
