My heart felt condolences to Ms. Shaw for the lost of your husband, Stephen. My prayers go out to you as well as your two young children. Their father died serving his Nation by perfecting his skills, and for that Ms. Shaw I consider your husband an honorable human being. He's also a Hero in the Law Enforcement community as well as to this Great Nation, the United States of America. My condolences also goes out Stephen's parents, family and friends, especially to Director Robert Mueller and the entire Department of Justice. May God provide his love and grace to Ms. Shaw and her two children as well as to Ms. Lorek and her two children.

Your work is done here on Earth - Heaven has called upon you today, leaving so many words left to say. But now it's too late, for your time has come, words unspoken; I am sure everybody has some. Regrets and wishes are probably there too, but lasting forever are memories of you.
There have been many times that we waved to each other, but we were there for each other in time of need. Now it's time for us to say Good-Bye, until we meet again in heaven to fly. Now go and Patrol the Heavens Above and Watch Below those you Love. Thank you for your service.

FINAL INSPECTION

The Policeman stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, officer. How shall I deal with You?
Have you always turned the other cheek? To my Church have you been true?"

The officer squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Cause those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.

But I never took a penny that wasn't mine to keep,
Though I worked a lot of overtime when the bills just got too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help, though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me, I wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place among the people here.
They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand.
I've never expected or had too much. But if you don't, I'll understand."

There was silence all around the throne where the saints had often trod.
As the officer waited quietly for the answer of his God.

"Step forward now, Officer, you've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's Streets. You've done your time in Hell."

-Peter Hornbach

You and your our family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Rest in peace my brother, you will now serve beyond the gates of heaven. I am very humbled to say that I have have been your friend since college in 1993. Your example as a truly great person made me follow you into law enforcement. You were and will always be an inspiration to all of us, you are super human and bigger than life. I will pray for your wife and children every day, my heart breaks for them. The work you did protected all of us in ways the average citizen will never know, your professionalism and character is impossible to replicate. I will never forget the sacrifice you made.
