Deputy Hans Fifer..you my friend will be truly missed. As several of us in dispatch were talking today, we all agreed on one thing! You were an awesome person! We can still hear your voice on the radio saying that you were off duty and then 10 mins later checking back on duty to back a fellow brother in blue on a call that had no one to back him. That should speak a thousands words to anyone that reads this as to the kind of man and deputy he was. He'd literallly check on duty and off duty several times...just about every day. lol. It always made us smile. I remember this now with tears in my eyes knowing that we will no longer hear him on the radio.

I ask that everyone pray for Deputy Fifer's wife and little girls. I can't imagine what they are going through. I pray that God give her strength tomorrow as she lays her husband to rest. Rest in Peace Hans...we miss you!!!!

To the family and friends of Deputy Hans Fifer's fellow officers:

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Hans died.

To Deputy Fifer's family, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Deputy Fifer gave to his community and the citizens of Arkansas, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on April 8, 2013.

TO THE FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND COLLEAGUES OF FAULKNER COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE, DEPUTY SHERIFF HANS FIFER.

My heart is filled with great sadness at learning of the lost of your loved one and fellow Sheriff's Deputy.
We in the law enforcement community are a family.
Though we may wear different uniforms and have different badges, shields, or stars pinned upon our chest.
We consist of many different agencies from across the nation, for we are:
Municipal Police Officers, Sheriff's Deputies, State Police Investigators, State Highway Patrol Troopers, Conservation Officers, Correctional Officers and Federal Agents just to name a few.
We patrol small towns, large cities, county roads and state highways.
Whether active duty or retired, we are one family, a law enforcement family, brothers and sisters bonded together by HONOR, SERVICE and PRIDE.
Daily we honor our fallen brothers and sisters never forgetting their sacrifice.
Daily our position is clear that we will SERVE and PROTECT our communities without faltering and with no hesitation.
Daily we show pride in our chosen profession LAW ENFORCEMENT, for we willingly walk the line of GOOD over EVIL facing the unknown with COURAGE keeping our trust and faith in GOD.
We know that evil roam these streets and at any moment in the course of performing our duties the ultimate sacrifice might be required of us in the service to our community, for LAW ENFORCEMENT is not a job but a calling and only a few will make the decision to commit to that calling to serve for some will give all that they have.
DEPUTY FIFER
You did not die in vain
You sacrificed your life in the service to the citizens of Faulkner County in the State of Arkansas with Honor, Pride and Distinction.
I'm proud to have worn the uniform of a law enforcement officer like you did.
I'm proud to have pinned the badge upon my chest like you did.
I'm proud to have served and protected my community as you did.
I'm proud to call you my BROTHER!
I commend you my fallen brother for making the ultimate sacrifice in the performance of your duty.
For you left us doing what you chose to do.
Performing a job you were trained to do.
Upholding the oath you swore to do.
Most importantly doing what you loved to do..........SERVING and PROTECTING your community with HONOR and PRIDE making a better and safer place for us all.

Hans, you were a good person and I am glad to have known you. You were a good example to others of what a police officer, father, and public servant should be. I know your girls will grow up always being told the wonderful stories about their father who loved them so dearly. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.
