Reflections for Master Trooper Junius Alvin Walker

Dedicated to:
My Brothers and Sisters in Law Enforcement Serving and Protecting Us All, Day and Night.

Special Dediction to: MASTER TROOPER JUNIUS A. WALKER
VIRGINIA STATE POLICE

WE ARE THE POLICE

We're always out there serving and protecting
We will never falter while we're on the watch
You're sleeping soundly the streets alive around you
We patrol our sectors our beats both day and night
We are the Police..........We're watching over you
We are the Police..........Protecting is what we do

A call from dispatch says that help is needed
We responded code 3 just to get to you
Arriving on scene, suspect began too scream
I'm not going to jail tonight....not without a fight
We are the Police..........We're watching over you
We are the Police..........Protecting is what we do

Our badge is battered, the uniform is tattered
We give all we have to keep you safe this night
Battle was hard fought we didn't give a second thought
Responding to a call for help is what we're all about
We are the Police..........We're watching over you
We are the Police..........Protecting is what we do

Some people say....................We're insane
Some people call us................Foul names
But when you need help..........Who came
We are the Police..........We're watching over you

Our fallen heroes, are gone but not forgotten
Thin blue line of courage, forever standing true
So please don't hate us and try not to forsake us
We will give our all, to keep you from all harm
We are the Police..........We're watching over you
We are the Police..........Protecting is what we do.

JA,
As I look at this picture of you, I see eyes of a gentle man who in times of trouble could step away from the gentleness and become a warrior. Except on this day, you did not have time to react to such a gutless and cowardly act. I see the eyes of a man who has seen so much pain and suffering and sorrow over the last 40 years of your career. I also see the eyes of a man who has cared for and helped so many people. I feel so bad that you will no longer be able to enjoy the things of this world that made you happy, but I know that you will be much happier where you are now. I have only talked to you a few times in my career but I regret that I never got to know you better. Rest in Peace My Brother

Rest in peace Trooper Walker. I met you years ago and from the first handshake I just instantly liked you and enjoyed the time that you and Elizabeth and me and Larry had getting to be friends in Texas. I jokingly called you my Walker, Texas Ranger and told you I knew we would be safe with you around. You laughed. You were a good man Walker and it really galls me that you were cut down with a cowards's bullet. -Thats right- a COWARD. Only a coward would shoot a man trapped in a car. Elizabeth, Vera and Clarrisa, may you find the peace that only God can bring. You will forever be my Walker Texas Ranger and I will never, ever forget your kind spirit. I only hope you know just how much I truly liked you and the comfort you gave when I "knocked over that wine on the table" and was so upset. You put your hand on my shoulder and patted me on the back and told me that no one was gonna get me for it-that it was an accident and managed to calm me down and stop the tears. It's things like this about you that Russell Brown made sure the world would never experience again. God forgive me, but all I can hope is that he will rot in hell while you walk on streets of gold in heaven. Goodbye my friend Walker "Texas Ranger".
