Reflections for Sergeant Loran Lee "Butch" Baker, Jr.

My family prays for the families of these two fallen Officers, may The Lord provide wisdom to the fellow responding Officers and to the community.
When we put on the uniform we must realize the sick and twisted in the community and behind the prison walls hate us.

Once again sad news regarding yet another brother and a sister in our Law Enforcement community who gave their LIFE, their FAMILY in service to the community they served. My strongest condolences to Mrs. Baker, and to each of your loving daughters. Ms. Baker your husband worked as long as he did to protect his community from the criminals that live among us, and pray on innocent victims. He ALSO worked as long as he did to provide for his family. Your husband is a good man. To Sgt's Baker's two daughters; your father is a GREAT MAN, he did his very best to protect you two young ladies, and to provide for his familythe best way he knew. My condolences to you two young ladies and my prayers will be said for your father as I will have a Mass said for both your father and his partner, Detective Butler.

To the Santa Cruz Police Department, I'm sorry for your lost of two of your officers, two fine human beings.

Avenue of the Fallen

Standing at attention in their class “A“ uniforms, badges gleaming and shoes like glass, are your brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement. All of whom have previously paid the ultimate price.
Today, like many others, they welcome you to this wonderful place. As you march down the Avenue of the Fallen, all eyes focus on you as if to say its ok you’re with your eternal partners. A salute is followed and a tear can be seen on so many faces.
Welcome, you served well.
Now come join us in the ranks, another is coming home.
