Here we are. Coming up on the 7th anniversary of the day you got your wings. You were always so proud to put on your uniform and quietly protect your community. Sacrifice. You sacrificed a lot in order to do what you loved. You are my absolute favorite man in blue. I miss you every single day. I can't wait for the day when I can get another one of your big bear hugs or to spend eternity listening to you laugh. I miss you Dad. I love you.

Chief/SFC Smith,
I feel honored to have known you while with the 339th MP Company, and now as a police officer I pray for you and your family as a brother. Thank you for your service to all as a leo and a soldier. You told me that it would "Behoove" me to do many things during my time as a soldier, and now I can tell you it would Behoove you to rest in peace.

It has been 2 years, 8 months, and 21 days since my dad died. His absence is felt every second of every day. His passing has left a void that will never be filled. I'm proud of his commitment and service to not only the town of Stuart, but also to the state of Iowa, and to the police brotherhood as a whole. Being a police officer was his true love. He was born to serve and protect.

Thank you for loving my dad and for welcoming him into your lives. His legacy lives on in those that love him, those that were helped by him, and those that felt safer through his service.

Rest in peace Dad and I hope you are enjoying all the fishing up there in Heaven!!
